New Chief Shop Steward and Steward for our local 3799

Joyce Henley has stepped forward to fill the long vacant Chief Shop Steward position. As she was our Recording Secretary and as per our bylaws a person can not hold two executive positions, the position of Recording Secretary is now open. A formal call for nominations for the position will be coming out shortly.

We welcome Joyce in this role. With her CUPE training combined with personal education it will ensure she has a successful time as our Chief Shop Steward.

Mike Billips Wood Engineering Technologist at the WIDC has been sworn in as a steward. Even though he typically works at the WIDC there can be arrangements for him to be on campus and of course we do have telephones :)

Their contact information can be found on the contact page

Things a little off in your office ?

UNBC has cut back on the cleaning services throughout the University. This has resulted in office garbage containers only cleared weekly, common areas cleared less often and in general less of a clean appearance. If you encounter any issues with over flowing garbage, fruit flies or other bugs or other issues with change in cleaning services please put in a TMA and request that facilities deal with the issue. If issues are not reported to them they will not know what needs to get addressed or if our members are just taking matters into their own hands and trying to deal with it.
